About Sandra – Holistic Healthcare Practitioner in Brisbane
I am a Holistic Healthcare Practitioner with over 20 years of clinical experience in Physiotherapy, Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine, and Clinical Pilates. My passion is helping people restore balance, reduce pain, and support long-term health by treating the body as a whole system, not just individual symptoms.
As both a Doctor of Chinese Medicine and a Physiotherapist, I offer a unique, complementary blend of treatments designed to support each patient’s individual needs.
My Journey into Natural Medicine
I grew up surrounded by Chinese Medicine, as my father was a practitioner. Instead of reaching for pharmaceuticals when unwell, I was treated with Chinese herbs and Acupuncture. From an early age, I experienced the profound health benefits and safety of natural medicine — trusted for over 2000 years in China and still highly effective today.
This personal foundation shaped my career and remains the approach I use with myself, my family, and my patients.
Education and Clinical Training
To strengthen my knowledge and skills, I studied Chinese Medicine at RMIT University in Melbourne, completing a three year degree followed by a one year clinical internship at Nanjing Chinese Medicine Hospital in China.
Later, I expanded my training to include Physiotherapy, completing a Master’s degree at the University of Queensland. I have also studied Clinical Pilates, giving me additional tools to help patients recover, strengthen, and maintain long-term physical health.
I believe in continuous learning and growth, and have completed numerous courses, workshops, and conferences in Australia and overseas. Today, I practise seven different acupuncture styles, including Chinese, Japanese, and French Auriculotherapy.
Areas of Expertise
My treatments focus on both symptom relief and addressing root causes, supporting a wide range of health concerns, including:
- Musculoskeletal health: back pain, neck pain, joint and muscle injuries.
- Women’s health: fertility, pregnancy, menstrual health, and menopause.
- Mental health: natural support for stress, anxiety, and depression.
- Digestive health: IBS, bloating, and other digestive conditions.
One of my greatest joys is helping couples on their fertility and pregnancy journey. Having walked this path myself, I bring both professional expertise and personal understanding.
My Philosophy and Approach
I see each person as unique. My treatments are gentle, caring, and personalised, combining the best of Eastern and Western medicine to create effective, evidence-based, and holistic care.
When you visit Holistic Physio in Brisbane, you can expect:
- One-on-one, personalised treatments.
