Women's health: care through every stage.
Physiotherapy, acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine for periods, pregnancy, menopause and fertility, at our Highgate Hill clinic.
From painful periods to pregnancy, postnatal recovery and menopause, women's health deserves care that looks at the whole picture, not just one appointment for one symptom.
What we commonly support
- Painful or irregular periods
- Pregnancy and postnatal recovery
- Menopause symptoms
- Fertility support, including alongside IVF

Acupuncture and herbal medicine for women's health
Acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine have long been used to support hormone balance, help regulate cycles and ease the symptoms of menopause. Combined with physiotherapy, we support your body through pregnancy, the months after birth, and beyond.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, care is often matched to where you are in your monthly cycle, rather than treated as one fixed problem. The days around your period, the two weeks building up to ovulation, and the two weeks after all call for a different focus. This cycle-aware approach applies whether you're managing painful periods, trying to conceive, or easing symptoms of PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome) or endometriosis, two common conditions where hormones and inflammation are often out of balance.
- Acupuncture
Supports hormone balance, circulation and stress reduction.
- Chinese herbal medicine
Individually prescribed formulas for cycles, fertility and menopause.
- Physiotherapy

Good questions
Women's health concerns deserve care without awkwardness. Here's what helps.
Related care
Trying to conceive? These go deeper on fertility specifically.
Is it awkward to discuss women's health concerns?
No, these conversations happen every day here and are treated with the same care as any other health concern.
Can I come in while on my period or pregnant?
Yes, treatment is simply adapted to your cycle or stage of pregnancy, there's no need to reschedule around it.
Can this help with menopause naturally?
Yes, acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine are commonly used to ease hot flushes, mood changes and sleep disruption through menopause.
Do I need a doctor's referral?
No, you can book directly. A referral is only required for WorkCover, Veterans' Affairs, CTP or a Medicare chronic condition management plan.
Can I claim on my private health fund?
In most cases, yes. The clinic is registered with all major health funds for physiotherapy, acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine, so most policies allow you to claim on the spot through HICAPS and just pay the gap. Check with your fund to confirm your level of cover.
What pelvic symptoms need urgent medical care?
Sudden, severe one-sided pelvic pain, heavy bleeding with dizziness, or pain alongside fever needs urgent medical assessment, not physiotherapy or acupuncture. These can point to conditions like ectopic pregnancy or infection that need immediate care. For the more common everyday period pain, hormone-related symptoms and PCOS or endometriosis management, physiotherapy and acupuncture are appropriate ongoing support.
